Volunteer / Intern Application
Welcome! Thank you for inquiring about volunteer opportunities with the Colorado Springs Police and Fire Departments. Once you have submitted your application, you will be contacted by Volunteer Services staff to complete the application process. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have no felony convictions.
It is standard procedure to perform background checks (records and reference) on the suitability of new volunteers due to the sensitivity of the information with which you may be working in the police and fire departments. Upon completion of a successful background check, applicants are interviewed and placed in positions that best match their skills and interests with available vacancies.
Training is provided for all volunteer positions. Initial orientation includes both online and in-person modules covering CSPD, CSFD, and City of Colorado Springs policies and procedures. Following the initial orientation is a module of job-specific training that will cover duties and information relative to that position.
